SMPS COLUMBUS takes chapter leadership and the development of our members into effective, creative leaders very seriously. To help identify and nurture future Chapter leadership, the Chapter offers a variety of committees to support the various Board positions. Our mission is to help committee members reach their goals of Chapter leadership by active participation on these committees. PROGRAMS/SPONSORSHIP

Organizes industry-specific programs and events involving prominent industry leaders, public officials, media figures, and programs surrounding potential project opportunities. Committee members can market their firms and determine program topics for the entire organization.

COMMUNICATIONS
Manages internal and external communication of the SMPS Columbus Chapter. Publicizes all chapter activities through email announcements, on-line calendar of events, our LinkedIn group, and the publication of the quarterly newsletter. Manages and maintains the SMPS Columbus web site www.smpscolumbus.org. Manages public relations program.

EDUCATION
Organizes a series of educational workshops which engage members of various experience levels. The workshops are focused around the six domains considered to be most critical to a marketing professional's success: Marketing Research; Marketing Plan; Client and Business Development; SOQs/Proposals; Promotional Activity; and Information, Resource and Organizational Management. This committee also organizes the Certified Professional Services Marketer (CPSM) study group.

MEMBERSHIP
Membership Committee members act as ambassadors to new members and assist in their orientation to the Chapter through networking. The committee is responsible for an anual new membership drive as well as planning member appreciation events.
